Solve has established a cooperation with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of
Tanzania, North Western diocese and Church of Sweden. There are lots of
people living on the islands in the lake, mostly
fishermen and farmers. They are in many
cases infected by
tuberculosis, malaria and/or HIV/AIDS. They need to be examined
and treated. Pregnant women has to be tested to see if they HIV and then
brought to a hospital to get treatment in order to give birth to healthy
children.
There is a possibility for Solve to procure a ship in Mwanza. The ship is
planned to be adjusted in order to become a mobile
clinic. The ship is intended to
visit different islands with medical personnel from
ELCT/NWD. The ship’s crew will
be sailors from Tanzania and Sweden.
